INDUSTRIAL & LOGISTICS MONITORING Powered by NETEX SECURITY

Complex facilities · Clear monitoring priorities

Turn a busy distribution site into clear monitoring priorities.

A distribution center can have several operations running at once, each with a different supervisor and timetable. GlobalEye organizes monitoring around defined zones and agreed exceptions. That gives receiving, dispatch and site management a common way to describe relevant observations, while keeping decisions about freight, access and operations with the people authorized to make them.

THE AREAS THAT MATTER

A monitoring plan for distribution centers.

01

Receiving and dispatch interfaces

Identify the camera views that connect exterior arrivals with dock activity. Agree which observations belong to receiving and which belong to dispatch, so a relevant event reaches the team with the operational context to assess it.

02

Changing activity zones

A quiet area during one shift may become a priority during another. Define monitoring attention around agreed schedules, selected views and current site instructions, with a process for communicating temporary closures, maintenance or altered traffic arrangements.

03

Responsibility at handover

When teams change, unresolved observations need a clear owner. Reporting can identify the relevant zone, contact attempts and follow-up status. This supports a structured handover without implying that an issue is resolved simply because the next shift has begun.

FROM OBSERVATION TO FOLLOW-UP

Clear instructions make the difference.

Divide the operating footprint

Group selected cameras into understandable zones such as receiving, dispatch, staff access and exterior storage. Confirm their names with site supervisors and identify which activities can actually be observed in each.

Assign escalation owners

Connect each observation type to an appropriate role and backup contact. Define when an unresolved issue should move to site management, rather than allowing responsibility to become unclear between departments.

Review the operating picture

Use agreed reports to review observations and outstanding follow-up across zones. Changes to dock allocation, shifts or site layout should trigger a review of monitoring instructions and relevant camera views.

PLAN YOUR COVERAGE

What to bring to your review.

The monitoring plan covers agreed zones, views and hours. It does not manage dispatch, verify freight quantities or provide a complete operational audit. Camera access, image quality and current site instructions determine usable coverage.

Discuss Your Facility
  1. A zone map separating receiving, dispatch and other priority areas.
  2. Shift schedules and an explanation of routine peak activity.
  3. An escalation owner and backup for each operational department.
  4. A process for updating dock assignments and temporary site changes.

PRACTICAL QUESTIONS

Distribution centers FAQ

Can receiving and dispatch have separate instructions?

They can be defined as separate zones in the agreed monitoring plan, with different expected activity and escalation contacts. Clear ownership helps observations reach the right department.

Does adding more cameras automatically increase coverage?

No. Additional views need to be assessed and included in the agreed scope. More cameras do not remove blind spots, poor image quality or the need to prioritize monitoring attention.

Can reports identify repeated operational issues?

Reports can provide a record of relevant observations within the agreed coverage. Your managers can use that record when reviewing recurring concerns, but gaps in visibility and coverage must be considered before drawing conclusions.
